WE WOULD LIKE TO THANK DR. PETER FLORIAN FOR ALL THE YEAR SUPPORTING OUR TSBG FAMILY AS CURATOR!
Familiar faces – new tasks
New curator and new chairman of the Students and Graduates Association
After 32 years, Peter Florian, a successful hotelier from Graz, resigned as curator. During his term of office, countless projects, conversions and further developments of the training programme were implemented. Among the biggest were the renovation of the boarding school building Venedig as well as the new building “Haus am Park” or, for example, the introduction of the English-language college, new training focuses, additional training in the area of sustainability and energy management, the daily sports lesson in the sports hall which was renovated for this purpose or the private secondary school of economics.
Following in Peter Florian’s footsteps is Christian Schweinzer, who himself graduated from the hotel management school, brings years of international experience in tourism and successfully runs his consulting company with a focus on tourism. Furthermore, he was the chairman of our Students and Graduates association from 2016 until he took over as a curator.
He was followed by Thermenresort Loipersdorf CEO Philip Borckenstein-Quirini as the new chairman of the Students and Graduates Association. Philip Borckenstein is a graduate of our secondary school and was previously Deputy Chairman of the Students and Graduates Association.
We wish them both all the best in their new fields of activity.
Christian Schweinzer, curator of the Styrian Hotel School Association:
“The Tourism School Bad Gleichenberg is the flagship among Austria’s tourism schools and that is exactly what we will continue to be. For us, there is no standstill and that is exactly how we want to present ourselves and continue to work on our school and with our students! Our graduates are in demand and sought after worldwide, so it will be my vision to offer them the best possible education here at our school”.
Philip Borckenstein-Quirini“:
“The task at the Students and Graduates Association is a matter of the heart for me. The school has opened so many doors in my life, now I can give something back. It is a pleasure for me to generate curiosity in the next generation and to promote networking among them!”
