As a student of the college, you can decide for yourself where you would like to live during your training. The place offers some possibilities, but the most comfortable is certainly to rent a room in the single and double rooms of the student house directly on campus.
Full board in the form of a buffet is included in the school fee anyway, the amenities of the short way to your lessons or the many leisure facilities on campus such as fitness studios, media centre, bicycles, skates, gymnasium, etc. can also be used free of charge by students who rent a room on campus.
Practice makes perfect! During your training, you must complete a 12-week internship in a tourism company at home or abroad before the 2nd year of training. Whether in service, kitchen, reception, travel agency and much more is entirely up to you. You want to know what such an internship can look like?

Bachelor degree “International Hospitality and Tourism Management” with 10 modules in Bad Gleichenberg and Semmering.
Founded in 1990, the BBI slowly became one of the leading European schools for Hotel Management and Tourism and gained high reputation in the course of the past ten years thanks to its wide-spread network of contacts to enterprises and international hotel chains – which employ many former students of the school. The cooperation with BBI Luxembourg renders it possible for graduates of the Tourism College Bad Gleichenberg, Semmering and Villach to obtain the Bachelor‘s Degree in International Hospitality and Tourism Management in a shortened course of studies (2 semesters).
Duration of study: 2 semesters for graduates of the Tourismuskolleg Bad Gleichenberg (Accreditation 120 ECTS). Total: 180 ECTS recognised throughout Europe.
Place of study: 10 modules at the locations Semmering and Bad Gleichenberg- the contents of all modules comply with internationally valid standards and are based on the state of the art of the international tourism industry. 3 months will be dedicated to a Management Internship in an Austrian or international company of your choice.
Nach einer Lehre beim hochdekorierten Koch Jürgen Kleinhappl in der Saziani Stub’n und einer weiteren Station in Graz bei Roland Friedrich im San Pietro, ging es in den österreichischen touristischen Hotspot Ischgl und dann nach Bangkok und wieder zurück nach Österreich zum Tourismuskolleg Bad Gleichenberg.
Nach 2 Saisonen in Ischgl bot sich dem jungen Gleichenberger die einzigartige Chance nach Asien zu gehen – in die 5 Stern Hotellerie. Markus Platzer, damaliger General Manager von InterContinental & Holiday Inn Bangkok hatte Daniel Freismuth eingeladen, ein Management Trainee-Programm im Konzern zu absolvieren. Ab diesem Zeitpunkt ließ die Fazination Asien Daniel Freismuth nicht mehr los und er arbeitete sich im 1.000 Mitarbeiter-Hotel inmitten Bangkoks hoch und blieb so einige Jahre in dieser Weltmetropole.
Für die Karriereplanung steht aber vor allem die stetige Weiterbildung für ihn ganz im Vordergrund und so entschloss er sich, seine Zelte in Asien abzubrechen und das Kolleg an den Tourismusschulen Bad Gleichenberg zu besuchen. Während der Ausbildung im Kolleg ging es unter anderem mit dem Österreichischen Olympischen Komitee nach Sotchi und nach dem Abschluss des Kollegs wieder als Restaurant Manager nach Asien.
