Steirerkraft Recipe Rocker
With Anna Majcan Styria meets the whole world from a culinary perspective
Anna Majcan, a graduate of the Bad Gleichenberg Tourism College, has already worked as a chef around the globe. As Steirerkraft Recipe Rocker 2021, Anna combines her passion for world cuisine with her love for Styrian culinary arts.
A three-month internship in an Indian restaurant in London fuelled Anna’s passion for international cuisine – especially oriental – and drew her back to faraway places right after she graduated. First to Texas and Mexico, then to Sri Lanka for a winter season. In addition to her enthusiasm for flavours from all over the world, Anna does not forget the local cuisine: “You will find so many things combined here. Unique, regional ingredients – such as the typical Styrian pumpkin seed oil or beetle beans – and dishes whose preparation has been traditionally passed down from generation to generation. A wonderful combination that tastes simply ingenious.”
All of this comes together in Anna’s interpretation of the new Styrian cuisine and merges in her creations to create Steirerkraft Nouvöl Cuisine, part eight.
Since 2014, twelve videos and eight additional recipes have been created annually in connection with the Steirerkraft Recipe Rocker project, available all together in the Nouvöl Cuisine cookbook.
Just like the look’n’feel of the videos, this year the book has also been conceptually and visually refreshed and clearly bears Anna’s signature.
Personal details: Anna Majcan, 22 years old, comes from Bad Radkersburg, is currently studying business administration in Graz and started her own catering business and food blog “Pop Up Gschichtln” in 2020. A concept, by the way, that began as a practical part of her diploma thesis for her college degree and worked so well that Anna now turns her passion into her profession. She also works as a food stylist for advertisers and magazines.
