Academy of Tourism & Taste on tour –
Hands-on training in Sonnreich in Loipersdorf

According to the motto of the three-years old Academy of Tourism and Taste in Bad Gleichenberg “Sitting only in the classroom belongs to the past“ the future experts of taste spent their last school week before the semester break in the 4-stars spa hotel Sonnreich in Loipersdorf.

For four days they explored the various units of the house, from the kitchen to housekeeping across the banquette area up to catering and the bar

. Instead of studying purely theoretical material, the pupils who are recently in their first year experienced the different working procedures from very close

. On this occasion they could refer to the feedback of the experienced Sonnreich team and at the same time win over the appreciation of the guests.
In order to perfectly complete the “hands-on training“, the young experts of taste stayed even overnight in Sonnreich and experienced the hotel contemporarily as guests as well as employees.

“The students of the tourism academy have chosen this training very consciously because they like hands-on work. In this programme we work together with 10 different regional partners like Sonnreich, the spa Loipersdorf, the Genusshandwerk, the company Rauch or the Vulcano ham manufacturer. Our partners vividly pass on their expertise to the students in workshops and in the course of the hands-on days. By doing things ourselves we human beings can learn much easier and faster. The hands-on days in Sonnreich confirm this without doubt”, says the head of the school Peter Kospach.
