Hello!
My name is Rainer Maria Pfandl and I graduated at the Tourism Schools Bad Gleichenberg in the year 2019. Currently I work for the province of Styria, in the Styrian office in Brussels and I have the pleasure to describe my typical working day to you.

Usually my working day starts at 7.30 a.m., sometimes even earlier, if there is an event in the morning. Afterwards I go to the bakers and have two chocolate croissants and then I take the subway heading towards the office.
Once I get to the office, I answer my emails, work on political documents, prepare meeting documents for plenary sessions of the committee of the regions and their different sub-committees, register for events and write memos about past events.
Afterwards I take part in events like for example DigitaliseSMEs
. This event is about the digitalisation of small and medium enterprises.
In these events you always meet interesting people.
Then I participate at further meetings or committees where our national councils Christopher Drexler or Eibinger-Miedl represent our country in the committee of the regions

. There we have the possibility to participate directly at political events of the parliament. By that we get to know the offices of the other provinces as well. Most of the times in the evening we go to evening events like the reception of the European Economic Chamber, with the Austrian president of the Economic Chamber Christoph Leitl. Finally, we take an after work beer and have interesting talks with our EU delegate Lukas Mandl.
And this was a day in my life in Brussels.
